OUSSSC stands for Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission. It is a newly established commission in Odisha to bring transparency, efficiency, and fairness to the recruitment of uniformed services.
This recruiting board covers Police, Excise, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, and Commerce & Transport Departments.
After large-scale recruitment scams in the SI recruitment exam 2025, the Odisha Govt launched this commission to ensure transparency, efficiency, and trust in uniformed service recruitment. It was intended to bring Fair, merit-based recruitment, less dependence on agents, and exam fraud networks.
Former J&K DGP Rashmi Ranjan Swain was appointed as the first chairman of OUSSSC in March 2026.

The Government of Odisha has formally announced an extensive recruitment process for the police department for the year 2026–27, and the recruitment procedure is managed by OUSSSC.
The Home Department’s official letter to the OUSSSC Secretary to conduct following recruitment of Constable & SI. Total 7,664 posts in four different categories: Civil Constable, OISF Constable, Constable (Communication), and Sub Inspector & Equivalent are approved.

OUSSSC in April 2026 Notification for 72 Posts.
The Odisha government approved 72 new posts in OUSSSC in April 2026. It is meant to start the Commission’s functionality and boost operational efficiency.
Being a new recruitment body, OUSSSC required the necessary committee members and staff for operation. So recruitment for these posts will be conducted by their respective departments until regular appointments are made. Officers and staff will be temporarily deployed to ensure the smooth functioning of the OUSSSC.
The state government has directed all departments to fill vacant posts as soon as possible. Use temporary deputation or outsourcing wherever necessary until permanent recruitment is completed.
